How to enable macros in my presentation?

By default, Microsoft Office PowerPoint sets the Macro Security level to High. This prevents macros from running unless they are signed. Additionally, Microsoft Office PowerPoint 2003 introduced a Very High level for Macro Security. This setting prevents even signed macros from running unless they are located in a location that has been setup as trusted.

To run unsigned macros in a presentation, you need to set the Macro Security settings to atleast Medium. Here are the steps:

PowerPoint 2013, 2010 PowerPoint 2007 PowerPoint 2003, 2002, 2000
  1. Select the File menu or press Alt+F key combination.
  2. Click Options button in the left pane.
  3. Select Trust Center in the left pane.
  4. Click Trust Center Settings button in the right pane.
  5. Select Macro Settings in the left pane.
  6. Select Disable all macros with notification option.
  7. Click OK buttons.

  2. Click PowerPoint Options button.
  3. Select Trust Center in the left pane.
  4. Click Trust Center Settings button in the right pane.
  5. Select Macro Settings in the left pane.
  6. Select Disable all macros with notification option.
  7. Click OK buttons.
  1. Select Tools | Macro | Security.
  2. In the Security Level page, select Medium.
  3. Click OK to dismiss the dialog box.
