How to get the Pulsate effect?

PowerPoint 2002 (XP) introduces more entrance and exit effects and the ability to run effects until the end of slide or the next click. Using those new effects and options, we would create a new type of effect - Pulsate.

  2. Select an appropriate picture for the demo.
  3. Click OK.

Step 2: Duplicate the picture

  1. Click on the inserted picture.
  2. Select Edit | Copy menu item to copy the picture to clipboard.
  3. Select Edit | Paste menu item to paste one more instance of the picture.

Step 3: Add Fade Entrance effect on one of the pictures

  1. Select one of the pictures.
  2. Select Slide Show | Custom Animation... menu item.
  3. On the Custom Animation pane, click Add Effect | Entrance | Fade menu item.

Step 4: Add Fade Exit effect on the other picture
Step 5: Set it to Start With Previous

  1. Select one of the pictures.
  2. Select Slide Show | Custom Animation... menu item.
  3. On the Custom Animation pane, click Add Effect | Entrance | Fade menu item.
  4. In the Start box, select With Previous.

Step 6: Align both the pictures to overlap each other completely

Step 7: Select both pictures and set their Timings to repeat Until Next Click

  1. Click the dropdown box of the effect in the Custom Animation pane.
  2. Select Timing... menu item.
  3. Select Until Next Click in the Repeat box.

The Pulsate effect is ready. The presentation file that demonstrates these steps is available here Download.
