To insert a non-breaking hyphen on slides in PowerPoint, you have the following options:

1. Use Ctrl+Shift+- keyboard shortcut introduced by Shortcuts for PowerPoint.
2. Enter the Soft Hyphen character through the keyboard. This character can be produced by keying in Alt+0173. Hold the Alt key and key in 0173 on the numeric keypad.
