Capture Slide Show

The Capture Slide Show tool takes screen-shots of the slide show during each slide build or animation step and each slide transition. It puts the screen-shots in a new presentation as the slide show progresses. This is useful when you need to print handouts with each slide builds separately. A new presentation with the individual slide builds also helps in creating notes targeted for each build.

You can start the capture process as follows:

  1. Open your presentation in Microsoft Office PowerPoint.

  2. In PowerPoint 2007, select Slide Show tab, click the Capture Slide Show button in the Tools group.

In PowerPoint 2003 and previous versions, the Capture Slide Show... menu item is available in the ProTools menu.

  3. You would be shown the Capture Slide Show dialog box:

  4. Click Start Show button. This will start the slide show and also start the slide capture process.

Note that if a slide has builds as well as transitions, you may get duplicate screen-shots and hence duplicate slides in the new presentation. You would need to manually remove the duplicates if you find them.
